Executive Board

Block of the Month / Challenge of The Month

Linda Black	And now for something a little different. Instead of working on a group project we will have a challenge. Each month a different theme will be chosen and you can interpret the theme in any way that you like, traditional or otherwise. To keep it achievable in the time frame of each month, I SUGGEST you keep it small - say 12 x 12, no larger than 20" on each side. However, this is just a suggestion. You may love the theme one month and decide to make a bed size quilt. Or you may just want a small wall quilt. IT'S UP TO YOU! Maybe you will choose a group of fabrics to work with and make each challenge the same size, so that they can be put together as a sampler. IT'S UP TO YOU! Maybe you just want to play with various techniques and have each one completed as an independent piece. IT'S UP TO YOU! How will themes be chosen? There will be a basket and paper slips at every meeting. Please write your theme ideas down and pop them into the basket. Each month we will draw a slip of paper and whatever is written on it is the theme for the month. I want this to be YOUR challenge so we need your ideas. IT'S UP TO YOU!
